About Cat Dental Notes
Cat Dental Notes is a small free library about one thing: the dental health of pet cats, from home care to what happens at the vet. It's written for ordinary cat households - clear steps, no jargon, no product hype - and it's made by the team behind PawLine, a research-based dog and cat Q&A app. PawLine app, patent pending.
How the guides are written
Each guide starts from the questions people actually ask, then is built from established veterinary sources, linked below. We keep wording neutral, name the source when a claim matters, and avoid invented statistics. These guides are general information, not veterinary advice - your vet knows your cat.
Sources
- Feline Dental Disease - Cornell Feline Health Center: the plaque-to-periodontitis progression, prevalence in cats over four, the four-week brushing program, cat-only toothpaste, and periodic professional care.
- Tooth Resorption - Cornell Feline Health Center: prevalence estimates, the unknown cause, clinical signs, and extraction as the only effective treatment.
- Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC): the Seal of Acceptance program for products shown to slow plaque or tartar accumulation, and daily brushing as the gold standard of home care.
